ARTPORTUNITY KNOCKS IS LOOKING FOR A VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR!
This is a Supervisory level Volunteer opportunity for an individual who wants to help grow and work with the fastest growing youth arts nonprofit organization in Georgia! A successful candidate will help manage our Volunteer and Intern databases and opportunities, as well as perform related administrative tasks.

We are specifically looking for a HIGHLY ORGANIZED person who represents POSITIVITY, demonstrates LEADERSHIP, and embraces DIVERSITY.

The role will handle the following responsibilities:

  • POST volunteer advertisements/listings across volunteer recruiting platforms
  • REVIEW, SCREEN, AND INTERVIEW VOLUNTEERS (in collaboration with HR department leadership)
  • ATTEND and SERVE as LEAD for volunteer events
  • Maintain electronic and paper records of all volunteers
  • Handle requests for volunteer information and data
  • Resolve administrative problems and inquiries
  • Prepare written communications (i.e. initial connections and follow-up responses, etc.) to candidates via email
  • Manage organization volunteer databases
  • Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos, and emails
  • Prepare agendas for trainings and Schedule trainings for Volunteers (in collaboration with HR department leadership)
  • Coordinate and maintain Volunteer records (including background check, identification documents to submit to HR, draft letters of recommendation if necessary, etc.)
  • Perform other related duties as necessary (inquire with HR)

*This position is a volunteer position. The ideal candidate MUST HAVE THE CAPACITY AND AVAILABILITY to work the minimum requirement of time which is between 5-10 hrs per week for at least 10 consecutive weeks. You may choose the days you wish to work Mondays through Fridays, preferably on your most openly available daytime/business hours; some weekend days are also available.
**The right person may also have the opportunity to transition into a more active role with the organization.**

Our selection process consists of a series of interviews and a performance review prior to officially offering the position. Because you will be working in a youth development organization, you will need to possess a current background check. This can be conducted using our agency or you may obtain a copy of your background check from your local sheriff's office.

Mission Statement

Artportunity Knocks mission is to empower youth to make positive and smart choices while increasing opportunities in the Arts, Education, Community Service and Bridging Cultures. The organization was established in the Metro Atlanta area in 2007 with a focus on providing stem and arts education that's culturally diverse and accessible to all youth in K-12th grades throughout the state of Georgia.

Description

The organization provides a nurturing and safe environment that fosters learning and creativity during the school year and summer months. Our primary demographic target ages 6-18, with an emphasis on the "tween" age groups (9-13). Our programs currently support students located within the Metropolitan region of Atlanta, Georgia with a reach that expands to over 10,000 students.

Among the specific activities provided at our site are:

  • Homework Assistance/Tutoring
  • Nutritious Snacks
  • Performing Arts Classes: Dance, Theater, Rap/Poetry/Spoken Word
  • Music Classes: Instrumentation, Theory, Voice
  • Fine Arts Classes: Culinary Arts, Painting, Photography, Fashion Design, Animation
  • Technical Arts Classes: Music Production & Engineering, Filmmaking, Computer Animation
  • Coding, Robotics, Technology, Engineering, Esports & Gaming
  • Physical Recreation: Fitness, Sports, Martial Arts
  • Mentorship

We also host positive concerts in hopes of giving not only Artportunity Knocks students, but other up and coming artists an opportunity to perform live.
