Volunteers are the heart of all six Seattle Children’s Hospital Bargain Boutique stores. And, in Kennewick, the need for volunteers is bigger than ever. Shop volunteers help to acquire merchandise, sort, price, display, cashier and sell merchandise. With all proceeds going to Uncompensated Care for families and children undergoing treatment at Seattle Children’s Hospital, volunteering for the store is something that makes a real difference in the lives of sick kids.
The store is always looking for experts to help us in different areas of the store. If you are interested in serving your community in a fun atmosphere, get in touch with the staff at the Kennewick store. They are happy to help train you and work with your schedule to find times that fit your life.
Here’s what some of the volunteers have to say about their experience working in the Bargain Boutique and a little about their experiences helping Seattle Children’s Hospital with their mission.
Pam: It makes me feel good knowing I’m helping a great organization
Jan S.: I volunteer because my son had surgery at Seattle Children’s 35 years ago
Earla: My great nephew and sister’s grandson go to Children’s. I look forward to coming each week! It’s my top priority.
Karen: I love to volunteer! After retirement, I wanted to give back to the community. Seattle Children’s Hospital is a great organization and we have great ladies at the Boutique!
The mission of Seattle Children’s Hospital Bargain Boutiques is to provide support for uncompensated care at Seattle Children’s, and to ensure that no child will be turned away because of inability to pay medical costs. To foster this support, the goal is to provide quality new and used merchandise at fair prices in a pleasant environment.
Come be pleasantly surprised. We have jewelry, clothing, furniture, collectibles, coins, linens, shoes and more. We are not your typical thrift store but, rather, we are your bargain boutique. Come see for yourself!
Donation drop-offs in all stores are Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. No Sunday drop-offs, please. For more information, please see our donation guide.
