Weekly you will build children's ability to keep themselves safe. At our aRISE Night, teams of volunteers impart the tools children need to recognize safe and unsafe situations and people. Children will learn how to protect themselves and others from abuse, bullying, and dangerous situations.
Volunteers serve as discussion starters, craft leaders, homework helpers, and mentors.
We will plan the activities and supply all of the materials. You can commit to two Tuesdays a month or every Tuesday from 5:00pm-7:15pm.
All volunteers must be able to pass a background check. Volunteers ages 15+ welcome without an adult.

Description
One in ten children will suffer maltreatment in their lifetime and twenty percent of children will be sexually abused before the age of eighteen. Rather than serving families after children have been abused, neglected, or mistreated, Rise reaches families before intervention is needed. Through child-focused education, care-taker trainings, and wrap-around services, we empower people connected to children to protect them.
