Boys and Girls Club looking for College Frat/Sorority Mentors for High School Youth
ORGANIZATION: Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula
Please visit the new page to apply.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula's Redwood City Teen Center is looking to partner with a local college society to implement an ongoing mentoring workshop with High School students. Schedule flexible Monday through Friday afternoons. College volunteers would buddy up with BGCP high school youth to run informative workshops about college or other helpful/relevant topics. Content/structure can be discussed and planned together between BGCP and the partner organization. Ideal schedule would be once a week/month for a semester or longer.
If your society might be interested in this kind of ongoing connection with a local youth organization, please indicate interest by emailing jsaba@bgcp.org

Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide the low-income youth of our community with the opportunities they need to achieve school success
Description
The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula's vision is that all young people, if they work hard, can live fulfilling lives with a good education, a fair paying job, decent housing, and the ability to raise a family. We want kids' futures to depend more upon their own actions and less upon the circumstances into which they were born.
It's an incredible time to live in Silicon Valley. Many are enjoying unprecedented levels of growth and wealth. People from all over the world are striving to move here to participate in our culture of optimism and opportunity. At the same time, this prosperity isn't being felt by all, and too many young people are growing up disconnected from what makes our community so dynamic.
