The Animal Adoption Foundation (AAF) is a non-profit, no-kill rescue for dogs and cats. Our Board of Directors, volunteers, and animals need a dedicated partner to help us move our mission forward. AAF provides a safe and humane environment for dogs and cats that are waiting to be adopted. Our caring volunteers and generous, loving donors enable us to provide a safe and happy haven for our special friends (www.aafpets.org).
AAF is actively seeking a qualified financial professional to join our Board of Directors to assist with proper management and utilization of Animal Adoption Foundation (AAF) funding. This includes creating monthly financial reports, working directly with our team to ensure funds align, making sure internal controls are in place, and keeping detailed archives of transactions.
Skills needed are in organizational areas including management, financial, legal and program oversight. Each Board Member is a crucial volunteer who provides leadership, oversight, and guidance on key decisions and strategic objectives.

Requirements & Responsibilities
- Attend monthly scheduled board meetings in Hamilton, Ohio.
- Upkeep and record keeping for all AAF finances
- Finance overview in monthly board meeting
- Monthly profit-and-loss tracking for reporting purposes
- Provide financials and support for any grant applications and fundraising opportunities
- Maintain and monitor internal controls related to finances
- Preparing future looking budget and financial projections
- Monthly checking of all Donor Snap and additional accounting databases
- Monthly checking of PayPal account
- Compliant with organizational policies
- Working with fundraising team to ensure fundraising and finance efforts align
Desired Skills and Experience
This position requires the following skills: bookkeeping, budgeting, financial planning, and accounting
