The National Park Service needs 8 volunteers to help hand out water and food to bicyclists at a rest stop on the Saint Paul Classic bike tour! The Bike Classic is a 15 or 30 mile tour around St. Paul, including a significant portion on the bike path along the river. The volunteer shift is from 6:30am - 10:30am on September 9th. If you are interested, please sign up here: http://www.bikeclassic.org/volunteer - Go to "Rest Stop Crew - Mississippi River Overlook." Then click "Sign Up." Done! Although volunteer sign-up is done through the bike classic website, you will be working closely with a park ranger.
The Mississippi Overlook Rest Stop is located at the upper end of Crosby Farm Road, at the top of the hill entrance to Crosby Farm Regional Park. This is near the intersection of Highway 5, Shepard Road, Mississippi River Blvd, and Gannon Rd in Saint Paul.

Description
The Volunteers-In-Parks program is a joint program with Mississippi Park Connection. Mississippi National River and Recreation Area represents America's greatest river, the Mississippi, which weaves together the natural and cultural heritage and economic vitality of the region. The National Park Service works with partners to foster increased citizen awareness, advocacy, and enjoyment of the resources of the Mississippi River.
Volunteer-In-Parks provides people with opportunities to discover, experience, and enjoy the diversity of the Mississippi River while also preserving it for future generations through volunteer restoration projects and education programs.
