Sun., Dec. 9, 10 AM - 12:30 PM: Plant natives on Cerrito Creek at Adams Street
Rain has arrived -- time to plant natives so their roots can take hold before summer's drought. Join us planting 10 AM - 12:30 PM Sun., Dec. 9, on Cerrito Creek at Adams Street (one block west of San Pablo Ave., on the Albany-El Cerrito border). Gloves, tools, and snacks provided. Bring a re-usable water bottle. Wear clothes that can get dirty and closed-toed shoes with good traction.
Meet at the unsigned stub of Adams Street on the north, El Cerrito, side of the creek, one block west of San Pablo. From San Pablo and Carlson, at Peet's Coffee, go west on Carlson past Old West Gun Room and Jesus Auto Upholstery, and then jog north to the creek. By car, allow time to park a block or two away. Easy from AC Transit 72, 72M, or 72R or El Cerrito Plaza BART. Info: f5creeks@gmail.com. No RSVP needed, but this is not a work party for very young children or large groups. We work in a drizzle, but heavy rain postpones to Dec. 16.

Mission Statement
Friends of Five Creeks is an all-volunteer organization founded in 1996, working hands-on to protect and restore creeks, watersheds, and nature in Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito, and south Richmond, on the east shore of San Francisco Bay.
Description
Besides frequent volunteer events, for the general public and for school, religious, business, or other groups, we lead walks, host free Bay Currents talks on nature and environment, publish a monthly e-newsletter on Bay Area environmental news, and advocate for political action on creek and watershed issues.
