Unpaid volunteer, 2-10 hours per week, 2-6 months, remote

At Anike Foundation, we believe that access to quality education is a basic human right. Sadly, millions of children in Africa lack this access. We provide essential educational materials and resources to African youths. We have helped thousands of people in several African countries, but millions more are yearning for help. We rely on a strong volunteer base and the generosity of individuals and corporations.


About this Position

We are looking for a strong content writer with a love for writing and an understanding for content creation for nonprofits. You will be responsible for writing interesting and engaging articles geared for a specific target audience and must have the ability to come up with original, relevant and timely topics. This includes profiles of program beneficiaries, stories about all of our programs, and research articles regarding education in Africa.

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication skills as this role might involve reaching out for interviews. Additionally, adherence to deadlines is critical. The time commitment is flexible and can range from writing one article each week to one article each month.

We’re looking for someone with:

- Excellent writing and editing skills

- Impeccable grammar and punctuation

- Creativity, and the ability to come up with relevant, interesting topics

- A professional, consistent writing style

- Knowledge of G-Suite and Microsoft Office Suite

- Bonus: ability to create graphics using Canva/Adobe Creative Suite to accompany articles

Since 2007, Anike Foundation has dedicated its work to one clear purpose: making education accessible to improve the livelihoods of individuals in Africa. With over 200 partners in 20 countries across the continent, the Foundation has touched thousands of lives through its funding of essential programs. Over the past fifteen years, the foundation has worked directly with grassroots African NGOs and accredited learning institutions to distribute school supplies - such as workbooks, pencils and sports equipment - to primary schools in need.
