The Event Coordinator role is an non-paid part- time position with credited volunteer hours based on a time commitment of 10 hours per week, which involves planning, researching , and coordination of our PLUS PosiCon 2017 Positive Body Image Conference,which will be taking place Friday September 22nd - Saturday September 23rd.

Responsibilities
Maintaining a working relationship with vendors and venues.
Planning event aspects, such as venue, seating, dining, and guest list.
Delegating event planning tasks to other staff members when necessary.
Managing and overseeing events on the day of, including problem solving, welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, and organizing vendors.
Identifying and securing speakers and special guest.
Coordinating volunteer requirements and briefings.
Coordinating suppliers and handling client queries.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual with team management experience, the ability to develop, and grow PLUS+. The successful candidate will lead programs, and partner with the Director of Operations. Specific Requirements include:
Demonstrated success developing and evaluating program models
Demonstrated success in implementing innovative programs.
Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool.
Strength in recruiting, managing, developing, coaching, and retaining individuals and teams, empowering them to elevate their levels of responsibility, span-of-control and performance.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details.

Our mission is to build body confidence and self esteem in plus size men, women, and teens to help realize their full potential. We also advocate for size diversity in the entertainment industry to create more job opportunities for plus size talent. We pursue this mission through a few programs:

See Positive, Women of Confidence, & PLUS Positive Men builds self esteem and brighter futures for teens and adults through free life skills training. These programs include interactive workshops, health education, mentoring from peers, business, and community leaders, and advocacy through social media, and visual promotions.

#MoreOfPlus Size Diversity campaign encourages decision makers in the industries to create more opportunities for plus size talent, as well as encourage plus size talent to pursue their dreams.
