As a volunteer panelist, you will be involved in your community by improving local healthcare services and building meaningful relationships with caregivers, patients, and residents. Ceca Award Program

The name Ceca was derived from the words "Celebrating Caregivers." We consider caregivers to include both clinical and non-clinical staff working in healthcare facilities, since every role can make a profound impact on the patients and residents they serve. As a representative of the Ceca Foundation, you will help select and recognize caregivers with the Ceca Award at a neighborhood healthcare facility. This comes with the opportunity to review touching and inspiring nominations detailing stories of exceptional patient and resident care provided by staff members. As a member of a three person panel, you will assist in selecting Ceca Award recipients for their outstanding caregiving contributions. This responsibility includes providing important feedback in ensuring individuals get recognized and appreciated for their efforts.

Award Advisory Panelist also help present the Ceca Award at subsequent celebrations for each honored caregiver. This is a fun opportunity to meet exceptional people, applaud their efforts, provide a much-needed pat on the back, and share a few laughs (and sometimes tears) in the process.

What You’ll Do/Benefits

Award Advisory Panelist accepted into the program will attend Selection Panel meetings monthly or quarterly (depending on the healthcare community award cycle), and are responsible for:

  • Reviewing nominations for each Award period and selecting finalists
  • Attending and representing the Ceca Foundation at Award Celebrations
  • Providing guidance on "best practices" as related to the Ceca Award program and encouraging caregiver participation

Volunteers must be age 18 and older, have upbeat personalities with strong public speaking skills, ability to travel to and from your assigned facility, and be comfortable in a healthcare environment.

Length of Time Commitment

We want our volunteers to engage and connect with the patients or residents and staff at their assigned healthcare facility. That way, the relationships you create become more meaningful and Ceca Honorees can be a reflection of that connection. Therefore, we ask volunteers to commit to at least one year of service.

Volunteers will spend approximately 2-4 hours per month or quarter (including travel time) reading about the exceptional acts of caregivers at our partner organization and attending the Selection Panel and Award Celebrations at their assigned facility. Any extra time spent interacting with community members and encouraging participation in the Award process is a bonus and at your discretion!
