Marketing Internship

Interested in marketing strategy, audience research, social media, and artmaking?

Join the Palo Alto Art Center team for an internship dedicated to marketing, design, research, and social media strategy. The intern will work directly with the Art Center’s Director, Marketing Coordinator and key staff members across departments to support upcoming programs, focusing on the Art Center’s class-based studio programs.

Designed for college and graduate students, as well as adults interested in re-entering the workforce or exploring a career change, Art Center internships give you the opportunity to enhance professional skills, build your professional network, and serve the community.

In this role, you will...

  • Plan and execute social media campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
    • Research compelling data and stories to be shared through social media channels
    • Collect audience research related to studio class attendance
    • Participate in marketing campaign focusing on the Art Center’s studio programs
      • Attend weekly check-in meeting with Marketing Team
      • Collaborate with Adult Studio and Children’s Fine Arts Program staff
      • Design promotional materials, such as flyers, for the studio programs
      • Assist with documenting program activities, including photographs, to be used in marketing efforts

  • Enthusiastic about working with the public in a museum setting
  • Interested in artmaking processes, contemporary art practices, and art engagement strategies
  • Excellent organizational, written communication, editing, and computer skills
  • Experienced social media user, ideally in a professional setting
  • Detail-oriented and experienced with research strategies
  • Photography and graphic design experienced strongly preferred
  • Skilled in time management, prioritization, and organization
  • Flexible, able to self-start, and have a passion for the arts and/or creative endeavors

When you will work...

This position is approximately 8-10 hours per week with flexible start and end dates, ideally starting in September.
