Need committed individuals willing to serve one day a week for a three-hour time frame. Duties will include sorting, organizing, packing, shelving and dispersing food items, toiletries and other donated pantry items given out on a daily basis. You will have contact with other volunteers as well as the clients that we serve. Some times are busier than others depending on what is required at the moment. You must be able to lift at least 10 lbs.
Our pantry hours are Monday thru Friday, 9 am to noon, and 1 pm to 4 pm.
Immediate needs are Monday mornings, and Monday and Tuesday afternoons right now.
You are responsible for your own transportation to and from the location.

Description
The American Rescue Workers in Hollidaysburg, PA provides a variety of services in the Blair County area. The primary service is the food pantry, which serves Hollidaysburg, Duncansville, Newry, East Freedom, Martinsburg, and Roaring Spring. Our hours for the food pantry are 9 am to noon, and 1 pm to 4 pm Mondays thru Fridays. We like to have 2 or more volunteers for each shift.
We also do other services as funds and supplies allow. Our volunteers will be sorting, shelving, repackaging, stocking the shelves and other preparation activities. We have tasks for a variety of skill levels, but minor to medium lifting is often involved. We can use lower functioning volunteers for other efforts periodically. Please come for a free tour of our facility if you are interested at all.
We will take individuals or groups, and if the shift schedule does not fit, then we can adjust for limited hours as well. We will work with you as you work with us! Please give us a try!
