Do you feel a calling to share your faith with others? Do you know the joy of sitting bedside with a patient who is facing their final hours? Why not do both?
Grace Hospice of South Bend is seeking volunteers to support our patients and their families during these critical hours of transition. By acting as a calming presence, you can offer comfort, prayer and hope to a family in need.
No special skills or experience is necessary. We offer free training and screenings to those volunteers willing to share their time and gifts. Individuals or Church groups, large or small, are invited to contact our volunteer coordinator for more information at (574) 208-9280.

Mission Statement
Our mission is for each employee to treat every patient as their own treasured loved one, providing care that affords a quality of life that outweighs quantity of days, and supports caregivers as their hearts find healing.
Description
HarmonyCares Hospice of Indiana is the first HarmonyCares Hospice in the state and has Nurses, CNA's/Hospice Aides, Social Workers, Chaplains and Volunteers that assist the patients and support their families wherever the patient considers their "home" to be.
The hospice philosophy focuses on comfort care not curative care. The goal of hospice care is for the patient to remain as comfortable and pain-free as possible in their own home or the home of a loved one through the end of life. Hospice care can also be provided in a long-term care facility or an assisted living facility.
Hospice is a philosophy of caring for patients whose medical conditions are not responding to treatment or for those patients who choose not to seek aggressive medical care at the end stage of life. It is a program for patients who are considered terminal and are expected to live six months or less if the disease follows its natural course, although many patients outlive this time frame.
We strive to improve the quality of life for all we serve including our patient's families, their neighbors, and the community they live in. We strive to make an impact with everyone we meet and improve the community as a whole.
Come make a difference with the first HarmonyCares Hospice of Indiana. This is an opportunity that will change your life.
