ORGANIZATION: 18 Degrees (formerly Berkshire Children and Families)

  • 5 people are interested

Berkshire Children and Families and Pittsfield Community Connection are looking for committed community volunteers to mentor local youth. You do not need to have mentoring experience - we will train you! Research shows that a consistent adult presence in a young person's life helps improve youth's self-esteem, well-being, safety, academic performance, and career outlook.

Come to an informational session on October 10th from 6:00-7:00 PM to find out how you can get involved.

RSVP to Paula Buxbaum, Volunteer Coordinator, at pbuxbaum@berkshirechildren.org, or call 413-281-6430 to register.

Mission Statement

Every child in a family; every family in a community

Description

18 Degrees serves the people and families in our communities - whether by birth, choice, or circumstance. Our services respectfully provide the support people need to be able to discover possibilities that may not otherwise be clear. 18 Degrees develops respectful, inclusive partnerships with those we serve, walking side by side, together as the way to their goals and new beginnings come to light.

18 Degrees promotes the well-being of children and the strength of families to build better communities in the Berkshires and Pioneer Valley. We provide education, parenting skills and support, prevention and intervention, advocacy, and life skills across a spectrum of programs serving children and families in four areas: early childhood education and care, foster care and adoption, child and family well-being, youth and community development.
