Research and Collections Volunteers will assist in the to examination, interpretation, and identification of artifacts from archaeological collection(s) guided by research staff and the Director of Research and Collections. Volunteers will need to possess organizational skills, a basic understanding of archaeological excavation techniques, and attention to detail. Volunteers looking to gain knowledge in basic artifact identification, archaeological collections, are ideal for this opportunity. Volunteers should have the ability to work independently as well as with others and a good sense of humor.

IAIS is a 501(c)3 museum and research center dedicated to providing unique, informative and engaging experiences for our members and visitors alike. Inside, our museum exhibits allow visitors to travel through time-displaying astounding artifacts and presenting information on prehistoric to contemporary Native Americans. IAIS offers permanent, semi-permanent and temporary exhivbits. T hese, along with our workshops, lectures, book discussions and various other offerings give visitors a reason to visit often.
