We call over 550 isolated seniors throughout Palm Beach and the Treasure Coast. You must be able to provide a friendly cheerful voice to isolated homebound seniors throughout Palm Beach & the Treasure Coast by making daily calls to check on their well being. Calls are made from our office in Lantana 7:30 AM- 5:30 PM everyday, so you must be able to get to the office. Must be age 18 or older. Must pass a level 1 background screening. able to communicate well over the phone, able to work as a team, have some experience working in a health care setting/non-profit agency/ social service industry, some computer experience helpful, and commit to at least one three-four hour shift weekly. Must have ability to work as a team with both volunteers and paid staff to provide quality services. This is a free service and has been instrumental in saving lives.

211 Palm Beach/Treasure Coast assists people in need by providing information, referral, crisis intervention and community education.

Description

We provide information and referrals on social services and other needed agencies for callers who seek help in various areas, including crisis, financial, legal, health information, assistance for the elderly, and basic needs. We are the crisis line, the elder help line and the teen hot line for five counties (Palm Beach, Okeechobee, Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin). We are here to listen and to talk to people in crisis including callers who may be suicidal.
