Museum Docents guide visitors through our exhibits, answering questions and interacting with visitors. Docents assist the museum in telling the story of indigenous people in the Eastern Woodlands and throughout the Americas. Docents are trained and guided by IAIS staff to give informative tours of our permanent exhibits.

The Institute for American Indians Studies preserves and educates through discovery and creativity the diverse traditions, vitality and knowledge of Native American cultures.

Description

IAIS is a 501(c)3 museum and research center dedicated to providing unique, informative and engaging experiences for our members and visitors alike. Inside, our museum exhibits allow visitors to travel through time-displaying astounding artifacts and presenting information on prehistoric to contemporary Native Americans. IAIS offers permanent, semi-permanent and temporary exhivbits. T hese, along with our workshops, lectures, book discussions and various other offerings give visitors a reason to visit often.
