About FIRST APPALACHIAN ROBOTICS

Location:

P.O. Box 16932, BRISTOL, VA 24201, US

Mission Statement

We strive to inspire young people to explore the areas of robotics, engineering, mathematics, computer programming, and science through teamwork and cooperative competition.

Description

FIRST Appalachian Robotics is a community based nonprofit robotics group based in Bristol, VA. Our team meets on Fridays and Saturdays.
Our team strives to provide opportunities for young people in grades 7 - 12 to be science and technology leaders by encouraging innovation and self-confidence. During the school year, we compete in an international robotics competition challenge through FIRST (firstinspires.org), but we do so much more than robotics! Our team also practices life skills such as leadership, communication, engineering, and design. Team students and mentors teach and lead explorations in STEM subjects with younger students, peers, and adults throughout the Tri-Cities area and beyond!
As FIRST states, it's the "Hardest fun you will ever have!" - they aren't joking!

FIRST Tech Challenge Team 7090 was founded in 2013.
