This is a newly created volunteer opportunity. We are looking for a skilled individual, with a strong committment to social justice, who can help us inform and alert our social media friends to news connected to our mission. This position would involve working very closely with our marketing director, and our entire staff team.
YWCA has first-hand knowledge of how federal level policies and programs affect women, girls and their families. YWCA advocacy promotes solutions to improve the lives of women, girls and people of color. Some of the advocacy positions the YWCA supports include policies that:- Raise the minimum wage, protect overtime and strengthen equal pay
- Support that protects victims of violence
- Support of racial equity
- Support of an anti-poverty approach to welfare reform
- Support families with quality, affordable and accessible early childhood education

The YWCA has 2 programs- A HOUSING PROGRAM
that provides a wide range of opportunities:
Emergency housing, transitional housing, supportive living,long-term housing and affordable housing
and We have a Young Parents Support Services (YPSS) program which has programs for Moms both in and out of school.
