Development and Events Volunteers will take part in increasing funding for vital child and family services and programs by supporting the Resource Development & Communication Department of Children’s Home Aid. The volunteers will assist the Events Team and the Operations Team in developing material, processing registrations, preparing letters/mailings, setting-up events, managing a database, researching donor prospects and other tasks as needed.

Volunteers will engage with both Development staff working on events, operations, grants, communication, corporate engagement and volunteer services, as well as program staff in our four program areas: Early Childhood, Residential Treatment, Community Schools, and Foster Care

Volunteers will gain experience and understanding of Non-profit management best practices, planning and executing fundraising events and donor identification, stewardship, and cultivation.

The events team asks that a volunteer be able to commit to 1 full day a week of 4-8 hours, Monday - Friday.

Saving children’s lives, moving families forward and going where the need is greatest - that’s what Children’s Home Aid is all about. Each year, we protect, educate and counsel more than 40,000 children, youth and families to improve their lives. Children’s Home Aid provides programs and services that focus on child abuse prevention, healthy child development and strengthening families.

Every day volunteers support Children’s Home Aid’s mission - to give children help, hope and opportunity. Volunteers are placed in positions based on interest, need, skills, location and availability. All volunteers receive training and ongoing support from Children’s Home Aid staff.In order to ensure the safety of our clients and staff, all regularly scheduled volunteers participate in a screening process including an in-person interview, health screen & TB test and fingerprinting background check.
