ORGANIZATION: United Way of Greater Cincinnati

The United Way of Greater Cincinnati is seeking energetic, organized, people to provide quality improvement coaching to the members of Family Centered cohort teams. Teams are comprised of 3-4 staff from local non-profit, grassroots organizations addressing poverty.

What Are the Tasks Required?

  • Educate and coach 1-2 Learning Collaborative teams on quality improvement tools and processes,
  • Assist team(s) as they develop their technical quality improvement skills and capacity,
  • Facilitate team sessions to coach and support the team as they develop a QI process (including measures, data collection & analysis, and PDSA cycles),
  • Challenge teams has they develop, implement, and learn from testing cycles.
  • Participate with other volunteer coaches and QI coach supervisor in learning sessions.

What Are the Skills We Need?

  • Expertise in quality improvement processes could include teaching, coaching, and experience working with change processes.
  • Interest in solving complex human service issues experienced by social services partners and the families they serve.
  • A willingness to learn and use the tools and language of the Model for Improvement Institute while working with teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, good interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills, comfortable with working in lower income communities, data and analytical skills.

What Is the Time Commitment?

  • A commitment to work with their team(s) throughout the Family Centered Cohort process 1 st Year: February 2018- March 2019). This is a new cohort learning process and will probably continue beyond the 1 st year into remaining 3 years of funding.
  • The first one -two months- face to face meeting with the team and with the QI supervisor; transitioning to phone calls, emails, video conferencing as determined by you & your team. Remaining months less frequent check-ins.
  • The on-going time commitment is an average of 4-6 hours/month, inclusive of weekly coaching with team(s); coaching calls with QI project manager; and possible quarterly learning sessions (optional).
