The Special Education Assistant will provide academic and behavioral support during the classroom hours.

Our students face diverse learning challenges that often frustrate and discourage them. They require an understanding and consistent presence to help them learn to self-regulate.

The ideal volunteer is able to attend each day from 9:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. If we have multiple volunteers, we will be able to rotate shifts. In which case, the ideal assistant would attend on the same days each week.

The ideal volunteer will be familiar with child development and special needs, and be gifted at building rapport with students. The ideal volunteer will also be very patient.

This volunteer position is ideal for retired teachers and counselors or homeschooling families.
