ORGANIZATION: Berkeley Youth Alternatives

Berkeley Youth Alternatives sponsors, organizes, and participates in many different events around the Bay Area. These community events are a great way to contribute to BYA's mission! Our 14 th Crab Feed is Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 6pm and we're looking for volunteers to help us organize, set-up, decorate, breakdown, and clean up. Let us know if you're interested in lending us a hand.

Mission Statement

Berkeley Youth Alternatives (BYA) uses two strategies to help young people and their families to address problems: Prevention--reach young people before their problems become crises, and Intervention--provide support services to those who are entangled in the juvenile justice system.

Description

BYA-Has several different programs: Afterschool/Summer Jam Program k-6, Teen Center, Computer lab, Garden Patch, Crisis Counseling Program, Girls Twilite Basketball- Sports Program, RAVE(Rising Against Violent Element), Mentoring Program, Nutrition Education Program, and Career Development. These programs are provided to enrich the lives of the participants.
