The Fairfax Families 4 Kids program is currently seeking new mentors! There is no better feeling than giving back to children, especially those in foster care. We have Saturday events twice a month that are recreational and educational and provide the youth with tools to for self empowerment . Prospective mentors must undergo a background check and 20 hours of training prior to being paired with a mentee . For more details please visit our website :

Mission Statement
The purpose of Fairfax Families4Kids is to complement existing county services by supporting the youth in forming healthy, positive, permanent relationships with caring adults and peers through group and individual mentoring activities.
Description
Fairfax Families4Kids is a mentoring program for adolescents and young adults (ages 12-21) in foster care or kinship families. Fairfax Families4Kids provides regularly scheduled community events, educational, social, service and recreational activities as an opportunity for youth to learn independent living skills for transition into adulthood and spend quality time with mentors and potential adoptive families. The events are typically scheduled twice a month and are always accompanied by staff, mentors and community volunteers and partners.
