If you are interested in helping us rescue more bunnies, we desperately need foster homes. You will be provided with a pen, hay, litter box, food/water crocks, etc. You will need to supply pellets and fresh veggies daily for the rabbit. MOHRS will pay all veterinarian bills provided the rabbit is taken to our veterinarian. Foster opportunities can range from a few weeks to many months. We meet every month, usually on the 2nd Saturday from 3-4:30pm, at the Lodge, a building owned by Lakeside Nature Center (but located about a mile from Lakeside), in KC, MO. We try to have fosterers bring their foster bunnies to these adoption/education meetings so the bunnies will have a chance to get a "forever home". ALL RABBITS MUST BE HOUSED INDOORS. If you can help us help the bunnies, please contact us.

Mission Statement
The Mission that began over 20 years ago is still continuing to this day. Our goal is to save as many rabbits as we can and adopt them out as INDOOR pet companions. We also strive to educate the public on the proper care, needs and expectations involved with having a pet rabbit, and what the rabbits requirements are of his or her human caretakers. When most people see a rabbit, they think of a cage with a rabbit sitting inside, or a rabbit in a backyard hutch. We want our community to think outside the cage. Domestic rabbit’s are social and thrive in an indoor environment where they are loved, cared for, and where their minds are stimulated daily.
Description
Established in 1994, the MOHRS is committed to rescuing domesticated house rabbits and educating the public to their proper care. Since our formation, we have rescued over 2000 bunnies in the Kansas City Metropolitan area.
The MOHRS is an all volunteer, non profit, no kill animal rescue. Not only are we committed to the health and wellbeing of every rabbit we take in, but 100% of the donations we receive go towards our mission of rescue and the care of our rescued rabbits!
