Choose to Make A Difference! Volunteer close to home at hours convenient to you!
Hospice Volunteers have the opportunity to make a profound difference in the quality of life for patients and their families.
We are searching for volunteers who are passionate about making this difference for patients and their families today.
Volunteer opportunities include Visiting Companions (Non-medical Friendly Visiting), Music Companions (live or recorded music for entertainment & relaxation), Together We Serve (volunteer in teams of 2) patient visits, or We Honor Veterans (visit with a Vet). Volunteers in Chicago and surrounding areas are especially needed.
No experience is necessary. Training and support are provided. We serve patients at home or in Skilled Nursing Care, in 16 counties of the greater Chicago area. Volunteer assignments are close to where you live or work at hours convenient to you.

Description
APEX Hospice and Palliative Care seeks to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and families who are facing a terminal illness. We focus on quality of life by providing comfort, company and active treatment of distressing symptoms, with the patient and their family as the focus of care.
Volunteers are an integral part of the Apex team and can find meaning, purpose and peace in supporting patients and loved ones during this time. Apex Hospice has successfully placed volunteers in roles that add to the quality of life of the patient and family while using the gifts of the volunteers.
