Our annual Family Self-Sufficiency Picnic is coming soon! It will be on Saturday, August 5 th from 11am-1pm at Greenbelt Forest Preserve Shelter C which is located at 1110 S Green Bay Rd North Chicago, IL 60064. Our annual picnic is a very special time for our participants and their families as for many this may be the only picnic or big family event they attend this summer. We have hopes of making this year’s event extra special for the children. We decided that the picnic will have a carnival theme, which will include games and food similar to what you might find at a carnival. Arrival time for set-up is 9:30 and clean-up will be done by 2pm. Our volunteer needs include food assistance, prize patrol, and games, set up and clean up. We would love to have some of our volunteers create or bring games and assist with running them the day of the event.
