Horses help make the connections
Not all communication is verbal. Horses have a unique skill in helping develop skills in communication in many different ways.

There are multiple capacities to help! We look for volunteers in our sessions, helping clients and working with the horses, but we also are in need of talent in social media presence expansion, office task management, and in board expansion - our standing board as well as an advisory board from those who could lend expertise to a small organization that is ready for expansion.

About RHYTHM OF THE REIN INC

Location:

PO BOX 67, 386 US Route 2, MARSHFIELD, VT 05658, US

Mission Statement

MISSION STATEMENT Rhythm of the Rein’s, a 501(c)(3), mission is to use Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) to enhance the well being of individuals with physical and emotional challenges in Central Vermont and the Northeast Kingdom.

Description

We utilize the healing powers of the horse to heal, restore, change lives and improve the physical and emotional health of youth and adults with physical and emotional challenges. From children with cerebral palsy and autism to adults suffering traumatic brain injuries, at risk teens, and wounded veterans, our horses give our clients hope, health and happiness long lost. The most profound statement made by one of our Viet Nam veteran participants is "if it had not been for these horses I would not be here today to talk to you, I was that close to pulling the trigger" - He was fortunately NOT one of the 22 veterans a day who commit suicide.

We have seen wheelchair bound clients progress to regaining the ability to walk, non verbal children improve their communication skills, and youth with behavioral challenges find the means within themselves to cope with challenging life situations.
