Crossroads is searching for compassionate and fun loving volunteers for Kids Camp 2017!
We have a need for volunteers or "buddies" for our campers! Buddies assist campers with therapeutic and fun camp activities. Campers range in age from 6-16.
Crossroads Kids Camp is focused on providing a therapeutic environment for kids to grieve and grow. It is estimated by the Children’s Grief Association that each year 4.8 million children in the U.S. experience the death of one or both parents. This overwhelming number does not include children who will lose a grandparent, sibling, or other significant person in their lives. Sadly, children’s emotional needs are often overlooked as they try and navigate their world after loss. They find that their friends cannot relate and often the significant adults in their lives are consumed by their own grief. This isolation can lead to withdrawal, anger, acting out, aggression, and other issues.
Kids Camp is an overnight camp that takes place October 6th-8 th.
All volunteers (new & returning) will participate in a mandatory training session at the Crossroads office. There are 2 training sessions this year. Sunday, September 10 th from 1pm-4pm and Thursday, September 14 th from 5pm-8pm.
If you are interested in volunteering, contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Sarah Cooley.

Description
"Why not?" is a question we ask ourselves every day. It is the question responsible for our beginning and it has made us who we are today. "Why not?" helps us find new and better ways to deliver hospice care to patients, families, caregivers, and health care professionals alike. It helps us connect with our communities, share our knowledge, be accessible 24/7, innovate, lead, and raise the bar. "Why not?" has helped us create a hospice experience we believe is second to none...and are confident you'll agree.
Expect More From Us. We Do.
