The Greater Prince William Medical Reserve Corps (GPWMRC) is comprised of both medical and non-medical volunteers that are trained to respond to public health emergencies and also support day-to-day health district operations. Opportunities vary in nature, and the types of activities and the time you would like to commit is completely up to you! Opportunities include free online and in-class training on various emergency management and public health topics. Some online classes offer free CEUs. Training topics include the Incident Command System/National Incident Management System, Psychological First Aid, Mass Antibiotic Dispensing Operations, Personal Preparedness, Basic Life Support CPR, Heartsaver First Aid, Risk Communications, and much more. MRC volunteers participate in emergency response drills as part of training. Furthermore, MRC volunteers conduct community outreach and education on public health topics, provide administrative support for Prince William Health District clinics, provide data entry/research support, assist with translation during community health screening events, and much more!

Mission Statement
The Greater Prince William Medical Reserve Corps is a cadre of volunteer health care professionals and community members trained to respond to public health emergencies and support public health events in Prince William County and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.
Description
MRC units throughout the state actively improve and protect their community’s public health by supporting:
- Health education and outreach
- Communicable disease outbreak response
- Volunteer emergency preparedness training and exercises
- Local, state and national response to terrorism attacks and disasters; providing staffing support for medical services, emergency shelters, mental health outreach, dispensing sites for medications and vaccinations, disease investigations and environmental health efforts for food and human safety.
