10 Books A Home (10BH) is an early learning nonprofit whose mission is to cultivate the intrinsic learning motivations (ILMs) of high poverty preschoolers. 10BH works with families living in high poverty communities where rates of poverty and school failure are higher than all other school communities in the US. We aim for all children served to perform above grade level.10BH is in an exciting phase of (1). Solidifying its education theory (theory of change) and (2). Launching additional three sites in the next five years.

To help support this vision and expand the impact of our work we are looking for a Graphics Designer to join the team. This person will report directly to VP of Marketing & Partnerships.


We are looking for a creative person who can bring ideas to the table and help translate team’s vision into beautiful and effective messages while staying consistent with the branding guidelines. The graphic designer will be working closely with the marketing team and the chief executive officer to build a slew of material for both print and digital media.


Responsibilities:

  • Marketing team is developing a variety of print materials including reports, articles, publications, flyers and other promotional material. You will have the opportunity to lead the design and concept of these products.

  • Additionally, you will develop digital images, infographics and material to be used for the website, videos, presentation decks and social media content.

  • You will create infographics to communicate the program model and impact in an engaging way to a variety of audiences.


Requirements & Commitment

  • Three-five years of professional work experience as a graphics designer is ideal but not necessary

  • Must be at least 18

  • Ability to start immediately

  • Commit 10 hours per week delivering on tight deadlines

Skills

  • Adobe Creative Suite or other design software

  • Social Media/Blogging

  • Graphic Design for print and digital

  • Web Design

Thiebaut Method is an after school program where struggling students become highly skilled in their passions. At TM, students work one-on-one with cultivators, independently, and in peer groups on projects inspired by their passions that develop creative and practical skills. TM is a place where "learning" and "fun" are synonymous and students get really good at doing what they love!

Program Details

  • Students are in grades K-8 and must live or attend school in the Ravenswood School District or be enrolled in the Tinsley Voluntary Transfer Program
  • Student must show proof of struggling in school to qualify for enrollment
  • After school hours: 3-6 PM Monday-Friday
