The City of Freeport's Community and Economic Development Department is looking for volunteers who would be interested in a long-term assignment as a clerical support specialist. Duties would include answering and transferring telephone calls, some data entry, answering citizen questions, and assisting with permit and other applications.
Candidates for this position should be familiar with general office equipment including computers and telephones and have good customer service skills.

Description
The City of Freeport's Community and Economic Development Department has five areas of concentration. They are Community Development, Economic Development, Transportation, Neighborhood Standards, and Building. The department provides many services to the community. Some of those services include issuing building, fence, and other permits, interpreting and providing guidance on City codes and zoning, assisting existing and new business owners and developers, addressing nuisance complaints, and providing affordable transportation options.
