LONG TERM EARLY CHILDHOOD VOLUNTEER
Status: Unpaid volunteer position
Times Available: Thursdays, 9:30am - 4:30pm or 9:30am-1:30pm
Expected Commitment: Minimum of four shifts per month for six months starting September 1, 2017

Position Description: The Early Childhood Volunteer is responsible for ensuring our exhibits (Imagination Lab, Innovation Lab, Tech Lab, Animation Studio, Sketch Town and Music Studio) run smoothly while creating meaningful experiences with children and families. The Long Term Early Childhood Volunteer is responsible for ensuring our visitors are having a rich and meaningful experience by directly engaging in visitors’ creative process and assisting in CCM’s early childhood programs.
Responsibilities:
Greet visitors in our Imagination Lab
Assist and facilitate activities in our Imagination Lab including Snap It making, stop-motion animations, DIY art projects, practicing literacy skills, reading with children, engaging in puppet play, and more.
Help engage visitors during our Drop-In Early Childhood program and assist our Early Childhood Educator with activities.
Incorporating CCM’s educational philosophy and mission into conversations with visitors.
Direct visitors to different spaces and share information of our policies and what we offer.
Reset and tidy up each space - pick up paper, keep supplies stocked, and reset stations.
Alert managers and staff to any immediate needs.
