The Walking School Bus has been serving Lower South Providence and Smith Hill since 2012. Our goal is to make sure students, K-5, arrive to school on time to start their day. Two Walking School Bus Leaders oversee established routes that are located within a mile of a designated elementary school. Our Leaders insure that pedestrian rules are followed and students are kept safe while they are escorted to school. Once they arrive at their destination, students then proceed to the adult supervised school yard. Morning walks take no more than 45 minutes to an hour maximum.
