Have you ever dreamed of being a train conductor? Sign up to get certified on the Forest Express train at the Magical Forest at Opportunity Village!! We are recruiting right now for the 2017 holiday season! (Must be 18 or older)

Join the Magical Forest "Forest Express" volunteer team! This volunteer role specializes in all aspects of the train experience for the thousands of guests that visit the Magical Forest every year! All engineers/conductors must be certified prior to volunteering through a classroom/practical training. This very important volunteer role operates the train, assists guests on and off the train, and ensures our guests have an incredible experience. Engineers/conductors must be re-certified every season of volunteering. Upon completion of an initial interview, this training is your next big step to becoming an official part of the team!

This specialty volunteer position is primarily outdoors during Fall and Winter evenings and requires physical mobility, outlined below. Please consider these elements of the position as you determine your commitment. We hope to see you this year!

Volunteer Commitment: Complete volunteer onboarding process, including a phone interview with OV team member. Attend this Certification Training. Commit to 3-4 evenings per week for the duration of the 2017 Season: Oct 13-15, 20-31, Nov 24-Dec 31 (closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas).

This opportunity is a great fit for you if:

You are personable, friendly and can provide a great guest service experience.

You are able to spend up to 6 hours outdoors in the evenings Oct-Dec. (bundle up!)

Safety is important to you and you will maintain knowledge of procedures and ensure safety protocol is followed during operation.

You are able to stoop and bend while assisting guests loading and unloading the train.

You have agility to move in and out of the operator compartment and train cars in motion without assistance.

You are passionate about supporting your community, raising funds for individuals with intellectual disabilities, being a part of a team and having FUN!
