Museum Volunteer Guide
Hostelling International Santa Monica
Overview: Meet guests at the hostel and lead them on public transportation to nearby museums.
Local volunteers offer a unique insider’s perspective to our hostel guests. You will lead a group of guests to a nearby museum (transportation is by walking, bus, or expo line). Local museum trips can include: Getty Center, Getty Villa, LACMA, MOCA, The Broad, Hammer Museum, Natural History Museum, California Science Center, etc.
By leading museum tours, volunteers create the opportunity for hostellers to learn more about Los Angeles culture and expand their knowledge in art, history and science. All tours will start at the Hostel located on 2nd street in Santa Monica.
Lead a group of hostellers to local museums 1-2 times per month.
Speak about specific points of interest (talking points will be provided).
Research and develop (add to) historical and culturally accurate script.
