Make-Up Artists Needed: Help Homeless Women Build Confidence With Makeovers And A Photo Shoot!
ORGANIZATION: Care For the Homeless
Please visit the new page to apply.
Each year, Care for the Homeless organizes it's annual Women of Susan's Place Campaign. This is a media campaign designed to dispell some of the stigmas around homelessness by profiling some of the brave residents at our women's shelter in the Bronx, Susan's Place.
One major component of this photo shoot and interview segment, are the makeovers that we offer the women participating. We want them all to feel as beautiful as possible before taking their photo! All participants are residents at the shelter, and so the chance to get pampered is really special.
This is where you all come in. We are in need of 3-4 volunteers to give "mini-makeovers" to the 13 or so women who will be taking part in the Women of Susan's Place campaign. If you or anyone you know is a make-up artist who would be willing to help this Friday, 7/28, from 10am to 2pm, please reach out! This is a great time for all and a potential portfolio builder for those interested. Please email me at jriendeau@cfhnyc.org if you would like more information.

Mission Statement
Care For the Homeless fights homelessness by delivering high-quality and client-centered health care, human services and shelter to homeless individuals and families, and by advocating for policies to ameliorate, prevent and end homelessness.
Description
Care For the Homeless (CFH) serves 10,000 homeless men, women, and children annually and provides comprehensive health care at multiple sites co-located at soup kitchens, shelters, drop-in centers and street outreach programs in all 5 boroughs of NYC. Our service delivery model provides care where homeless individuals and families are receiving a variety of other services with the goal of reducing barriers to accessing high-quality health care. CFH also operates three transitional housing sites with on-site health care and is expanding shelter services in the future, ensuring a safe, supportive path to permanent housing.
In addition, CFH is committed to ending homelessness by conducting public education, research, and analysis of model programs and practices that create permanent housing opportunities, and by shaping policies to prevent future homelessness.
