Are you friendly, caring, computer literate, a clear speaker, and want to help local seniors? Consider becoming an office volunteer for the Shepherd's Center of Fairfax-Burke and South County offices! Office volunteers match volunteer drivers with local seniors needing transportation to medical appointments and shopping.
Volunteers answer and make calls, provide information, and enter data into a computer. Volunteers usually give 6 hours per month total (by having 2 or 3 shifts per month). Shifts are M-F, mornings or afternoons.
This is a remote/work from home opportunity. Our Alexandria office is in the Gerry Hyland Government Center. Our office that serves Burke, Central Fairfax and Fairfax City is located where Olley Lane intersects Little River Turnpike in Fairfax.
Prospective volunteers are given a brief preview. If interested, volunteers are then trained and supported in the work. The time goes by quickly on this job. You meet the nicest people, while also helping so many in your local community.
