Dispatching Rides to Volunteer Drivers
Talking to Seniors About Rides

This volunteer position is helping match volunteer drivers with local seniors needing transportation to medical appointments and shopping needs. Duties include answering the phone, making out-bound calls, entering data into a computer, providing information, speaking to seniors face-to-face, and being able to multi-task. It is 6 hours a month, consisting of two 3 hour shifts per month. There are two shifts (M-F) either the 10am to 1 pm or 1pm to 4 pm. The training for this volunteer position takes place in the office, and usually is completed in 2-4 hours. We are seeking friendly, caring, computer literate, clear speakers, to help. We want volunteers who really want to help local seniors. Many of the seniors you will be helping are low-income, and all are no longer able to drive or medically can not currently drive. This work is fast paced, and you meet the nicest people, while also helping so many in our local community. This is a truly a rewarding volunteer opportunity. Our office is located at the intersection of Rt. 236 and Olley Lane in Fairfax.
