We are now recruiting interns to join our team in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. We are looking for exceptional people that want to make a real difference in the lives of some amazing children. It is challenging, exhausting, emotional work, but for the right person highly rewarding! We recruit throughout the year on a rolling basis, but currently need volunteers for three weeks or more from mid-January- June 2018
We operate a school that has an intensive early childhood education program (Jedi Academy). Our afternoon program is STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics About 60 children pass through our door every day. Our classes are free for the children. We need volunteer teachers that can bring creativity, dedication and passion to the classroom. You DO NOT need to be a teacher- we will train you to be a teaching ninja.

Description
Project Favela is an organization that uses education as a tool in hopes of creating opportunities that could change the lives of others within the communities of Rio de Janeiro. We believe that only education can break the cycle of poverty and make dreams possible. For us education is the only passport to a real future. A bright future. A future that these children most certainly deserve and have a right to. We create and manage educational programs that are unique and one of a kind here in Rio. We have a very creative and effective teaching system especially designed for Brazilian children of the favela. A curriculum that is diverse, creative, and both challenging and fun. Our goal is to provide educational programs that are sustainable, comprehensive and very effective. This is is our fight on the ground in Rio. We want our children in our classrooms to be enthusiastic learners, children excited about learning and education, dreamers that propel into higher education.
