Join DSNetwork in promoting Down syndrome awareness, inclusion and acceptance in our community as part of ASU's homecoming parade and block party. Each year, more than 1,500 walkers participate from across Arizona as they fundraise for our ongoing programs and services. This is our largest and most anticipated fundraising event of the year - and we need your help!
Volunteer Requirements:
-Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Parent supervision is required for volunteers who are less than 16 years old.
- Able and willing to participate in an outdoor activity despite the weather. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes! Hats/sunscreen and sunglasses are encouraged.
- Able to provide positive encouragement and excitement amongst walkers at the event.
- MANDATORY VOLUNTEER TRAINING FOR ALL BUDDY WALK VOLUNTEERS. Please plan to attend one of the training dates: Mon, Oct 23rd or Tues, Oct. 24th from 4:30 to 5:30pm at the Pyle Adult Recreation Center in Tempe.
Where: ASU Homecoming Parade in Tempe
DSNetwork's tent is generally located on University in Downtown Tempe between the ASU Pedestrian Bridge and McAllister Rd. The parade begins promptly at 3:45pm. Volunteers are being asked to arrive by 12:30pm for set up and assisting guests as they arrive.
