Want to have a tangible impact by addressing local poverty through food?
As more and more community members worry about where their next meal is coming from, many students are asking how they can help. In response to this problem, the Campus Kitchen at Marquette has organized the Kitchen Volunteer Corps, a program designed to serve members of the Milwaukee community who face issues of poverty and food insecurity.
Organizations in Milwaukee have shown extraordinary dedication and resolve to tackle poverty and social inequality in our community. But the need to provide regular meals for the populations they serve, many of whom are already food insecure, can be difficult.
The Campus Kitchen has established a special program in which volunteers will work in the kitchen to divert food waste from dining halls to provide nourishing meals for victims of poverty through our community partner organizations. The greatest demand is for volunteers who will serve in our kitchen to prepare meals. Food delivery and pickup drivers are also needed.
The only qualification required is your desire to end poverty. You don’t need any kitchen experience or cooking skills.More opportunities with Campus Kitchens Project at Marquette
