ORGANIZATION: RSVP: Serving Denton County

As a Marketing and Fundraising VISTA with the Network of Community Ministries you will fight poverty and help empower neighbors as they seek an improved quality of life. Major duties include researching and writing at least 10 grant proposals with a potential outcome of $40,000 for NETWORK’s three program areas. The VISTA will also increase marketing efforts through a variety of social media platforms and develop strategies to build greater community awareness of the agency’s mission and programs. VISTAs serve their communities through indirect service, have limited interaction with NETWORK’s clients and will be based in an office setting. Applicants should possess good researching skills, strong verbal and writing communication skills, and computer skills.

VISTAs (Volunteers in Service to America) devote one year of full-time service at nonprofit organizations or local government agencies. They build the capacity of these organizations to develop, manage, and sustain programs to make poverty history.

Requirements of Service:

  • Must be at least 18 years old, no upper age limit
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
  • Pass a criminal history review
  • Must be able to serve one year (365 days) full time
