CAT CARE VOLUNTEER - Skokie Adoption Center
C.A.R.E. is a volunteer-driven organization, and we can always use more help taking care of the cats who are awaiting adoption. Volunteers are responsible for cat care at our adoption center on weekdays, weekends and holidays. Devoting time as a Cat Care Volunteer entails giving up a few hours per week to help the animals at the adoption center. Cat Care Volunteers pick a regular weekly shift that they can adhere to consistently. At the present time we are recruiting volunteers 18 years of age and older
Cat Volunteer tasks cover the day-to-day care of the cats at the adoption center. We have daytime shifts available during the week in addition to evening and weekend shifts. After orientation and a brief training, these are the tasks that are performed by each volunteer:
* Cleaning and disinfecting cages
* Grooming and socializing cats and noting behavior issues
* Cleaning litter pans and scoops
* Feeding
* Doing dishes
* Doing laundry
* Mopping floors
* Washing windows
* Taking out trash
* Volunteering at fundraisers
* Other opportunities such as Adoption Counselor are options after a probationary period
