OhioHealth At Home Hospice Veteran-to-Veteran Program Support Volunteers:

• Provide support and companionship to fellow Veterans at end-of-life
• Sit bedside and offer conversation/listening ear

Qualifications:

1. Completion of OhioHealth At Home hospice volunteer training, plus Veteran to Veteran program training
2. Commitment to the philosophy and goals of hospice
3. Emotional maturity, sensitivity, listening skills
4. Reference and background check (including fingerprinting)
5. Completion of TB blood test and yearly flu vaccination
6. Skills in listening, empathy and acceptance of people in their current life stage
7. Understanding of grief and loss issues
8. Ability to work independently
9. Ability to commit to at least 4-8 hours of volunteer work per month
10. Must be COVID/flu vaccinated or willing to get vaccinated.
