Objectives of Service This brilliant investigator will be engaged in the compilation and synthesis of scholarly research that is "proof of concept" of Shakti's educational material, also creating supporting documents used to translate Shakti curriculum for diverse audiences.
Outcome of Service The SFU Research Maven has the opportunity to navigate cutting edge research about education and social change while walking in multiple worlds - academia, science and Shakti, resulting in deeper understanding of Shakti's real impacts and context.
Length of Expected Term 3-6 months (or longer) Time Commitment 5 hours per week
Required Qualifications Deeply and joyfully curious, loves to dig, loves research and always keeps an eye on what's relevant. Desire to and familiarity with investigation in multiple media - online, print, audio, video, etc. Ease of communication of themes, challenges, successes, questions. Prefered Qualifications Icing on the cake would be: personal or professional background in or connections to research on education and learning, specifically mindfulness, trauma-informed, nature-based, woman-centered, community-based.
Support Provided You'd be on a team with fantastic folks who would be incredibly grateful for your contributions and would provide direction, help develop a strategic map that you're inspired about, and then provide regular contact for accountability and celebration.

Description
Shakti Rising is active across the USA. We work with volunteers from all over the United States and beyond. We have three program areas: Transformational Recovery, Shakti Feminine University, and Transformation Through Service. Our three programs support women and the larger community to dive deeply into their own personal recovery, education, and leadership development. Our volunteer program is a leadership program, we are a living laboratory of leading from the feminine.
