GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establishing positive and appropriate relationships with the refugee children, volunteers and staff in the After School Program, plus curriculum building and lesson plan facilitation for the after school program. Showing up twice a week to the After School program.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Model appropriate behavior within an academic setting. Mentor newly arrived refugee students at Indian Creeks Elementary school in Clarkston, GA
  • Develop worksheets and plans for the students to improve their educational capacities.
  • Facilitate curriculum and activities at two after school sessions per week during the semester. This will include reading, writing, art, music, games, and academic enrichment (English language development and math skills, among others). Attention should be focused on the students and their specific needs.
