Mission Statement
To provide interim care for injured and orphaned native wildlife and lifelong care to surrendered, confiscated and abandoned exotics and to provide educational outreach programs to area schools.
Description
Safe Haven Wildlife Sanctuary, located on 320-acres in rural northern Nevada, provides lifelong care to exotics that have been surrendered by their owners or confiscated due to substandard care. Accredited by the American Sanctuary Association and verified by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries, we provide these services free of charge and rely on public support, grant funding and area fundraisers.
In some instances we provide emergency placement care which may result in housing a rescued resident in a small temporary enclosure but immediately begin constructing a new spacious enclosure. Habitat building and grounds update are several of our priority volunteer needs.
