Do you have a gift for organization? Are you interested in putting these skills to work for a meaningful project? The Welcome to America Project needs your help to welcome and support newly arrived refugees. WTAP receives household donations at our warehouse facility. These items are then sorted and organized on shelving units to prepare for selection and delivery to new refugee families.

Position: Warehouse Inventory Manager
To keep the WTAP warehouse clean and organized and help delivery personnel gather items they need on Wednesdays.

Time Commitment:

Approximately 15 hours per month. This volunteer will primarily spend a couple hours Tuesday and Wednesday mornings sorting and organizing donations and preparing goods for delivery personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Each week, manage and oversee volunteers at the warehouse, in order to keep contents organized, sorted and ready for delivery to refugees.
• Develop a system for organizing and sorting donations and train volunteers to create consistency.
• Develop kits of donations that are easy to pull and pack.
• Receive donations from donors dropping off items
• Help determine what items to keep and what to send to other organizations

Qualifications:

• Highly responsible individual with strong desire to do regular, steady volunteer work in a warehouse type environment
• Must have strong organizational skills
• Must be comfortable working with other volunteers and leading them in a project.

Behaviors:

• Must lead by example and be able to direct rotating groups of volunteers, of all ages.
• Must show strong initiative and problem solving skills.
