ORGANIZATION: Justice & Diversity Center of the Bar Association of San Francisco

The Justice & Diversity Center of the San Francisco Bar Association is looking for an intern to support our limited-scope Eviction Defense Project, the Housing Negotiation Project.

Intern must be available Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00am to 5:00pm to assist with preparation of documents as well as filing and serving paperwork at the San Francisco Superior Court House during eviction mandatory settlement conferences. This is a great experience for those interested in non-profit legal services or those aspiring to attend law school.

The Housing Negotiation Project (HNP) is JDC's limited-scope project for Eviction Defense. Through this project, volunteer attorneys represent low-income individuals and families being evicted during their mandatory settlement conferences. Representation is limited to settlement conferences only. Through this unique project, every individual in need of an attorney receives representation.

The Justice & Diversity Center of The Bar Association of San Francisco (JDC) provides pro bono legal and related social services to low-income and homeless San Francisco residents and to nonprofit organizations that serve these communities. We provide these services primarily through the use of volunteer attorneys and non-attorneys. JDC takes a holistic approach to legal services, seeking to address the full range of legal and social services issues that prevent our clients from retaining stability in their lives.
