As a Big Brother or Sister, your gift of friendship has the power to help a young person grow in self-confidence, develop better decision-making skills, perform stronger in academics, and discover a brighter future. This opportunity will allow you to build a relationship with one student (or Little) right at Hennepin Elementary, where you'll explore activities like reading, doing a science experiment, or working on a craft project. You'll mutually agree on activities, and will be supported by our staff to help each child reach their potential.

Mission Statement
Create and support mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
Description
Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities is the largest youth mentoring organization in the greater Twin Cities area serving Hennepin, Ramsey, Anoka and parts of Dakota and Washington counties. Each year, we match up to 3,000 youth (Littles) and their families with caring adults (Bigs) who volunteer as youth mentors.
All youth benefit from having another caring adult in their life as they experience life's opportunities and challenges. With support of our community of participants, partners, staff and board, we want every young person to have a mentor, be affirmed in who they are, and explore who they want to be.
